| Reaching
Home "Reaching
Home" began as a maquette or study for a larger work commissioned by a Philadelphia
woman. The sculpture was the centerpiece in a stone fountain in honor of her late husband
who had been an avid sailor. Consequently, with her permission, this limited edition is
being released.
Sailing on a reach, a term
meaning with the wind by your side, can mean a rough ride or a smooth sail, depending on
the wind and the sailors response. The memorials metaphor alludes to life, the
voyage toward our final destination, our reaching home.
